Gas connection in France

Butane/propane gas hoses come with different sizes of connector, indicated by different colors.

To avoid any risk of damage to the plancha connection, please refer to the instructions supplied by the hose manufacturer.

Connecting your plancha to category I3+ (butane/propane):

  • Use a safety pressure regulator NF 28 m
  • Bar for butane and NF 37 mbar for propane.

The hose must be visible along its entire length and easily accessible. Comply with the hose manufacturer's instructions for use and safety (e.g. validity date).

Hose length must not exceed 1.5 meters.

Each burner is equipped with a thermocouple safety device, which cuts off the gas supply to the burners if the flame goes out unexpectedly.

Turn the hose connector clockwise.

The hose connection must be made in accordance with the hose manufacturer's instructions, and in compliance with the standards in force in the country concerned.

Your FORGE ADOUR griddle is configured for use with butane/propane gas.

The type of gas to be used is indicated on the label located on the side of your griddle.

Any maintenance work requiring the opening of the internal gas supply circuit must only be carried out by an authorized service technician.

Any attempt to disassemble or modify the appliance in order to change its technical characteristics may result in accidents for which the manufacturer declines all responsibility and voids the warranty.

  • Your FORGE ADOUR griddle is not connected to an exhaust system. It must be installed and connected in accordance with current installation regulations. Particular attention must be paid to ventilation requirements. A fresh air flow of 15 m3/h is required for the combustion air supply.
  • Caution: Accessible parts can be very hot. Keep away from small children.
  • Do not use an adjustable expansion valve.
  • Wait until the griddle is cold before cleaning the frame and handling the grease tray.
  • Check that the hose is not in contact with hot parts of the appliance.
  • If your appliance is protected by a cover, be sure to remove it before using the plancha.
  • For use without a FORGE ADOUR cart or stand: the gas bottle (13kg) supplying the griddle must be placed 80 cm from the appliance.
  • For operation of the griddle on a cart or stand, it is imperative to use a maximum 6kg bottle.
  • Caution: leakage must be checked outside the premises, away from any source of ignition.
  • Ensure that the control levers are in the closed position.
  • After opening the cylinder and resetting the pressure reducer, use soapy water to check all connections, pressure reducer and appliance for bubbles. The presence of bubbles indicates a leak. Close the gas cylinder and retighten all fittings.
  • Repeat the leak test. If the leak comes from the appliance, do not use your griddle and contact the manufacturer or your retailer. Repeat the leak test every time you change the cylinder. Danger: Never check the tightness of your appliance with a flame. Never use a leaking appliance.
  • Use protective gloves when handling particularly hot components.
  • Parts protected by the manufacturer must not be manipulated by the user. All gas line components must not be modified by the user. (The gas containers that can be used on this type of appliance range from 6 to 13 KG and are distributed on the French market. (Dimension height=560 mm and depth=310 mm max. including regulator)

  • Be sure to change the container away from any source of ignition.
  • Do not block vents, and regularly check that they are clean. If vents are blocked, contact the manufacturer or your dealer.
  • The underside of the appliance must remain free to allow good air circulation to the burner.
  • Do not modify the appliance; contact the manufacturer or your dealer.

Do not cut food with a knife directly on the griddle.

From the very first use, we recommend that you run your plancha for 15 minutes without load. A slight odor may be released for a few moments.

Before each use, we recommend that you preheat your plancha for at least 10 min, with the knob in the high-flame position.

When the temperature of the appliance support surface exceeds 50k, it must be made of refractory bricks.

The grease trap is not dishwasher-safe.
