In 1978, Manuel Merin founded FORGE ADOUR in Bayonne. At the time specialising in the manufacture of fireplace accessories, FORGE ADOUR began to add an ancillary activity to its production. The manufacture of planchas gradually became an activity in its own right, and the plancha became FORGE ADOUR's flagship product.
Today, FORGE ADOUR is Europe's leading manufacturer of planchas. Renowned for its ability to innovate, FORGE ADOUR is writing the history of the plancha and has become a driving force in the outdoor cooking sector.

FORGE ADOUR's strength lies in its total control of the design, manufacturing and marketing processes, enabling it to offer products that are in line with its values and respectful of the environment in their manufacture, use and maintenance.
In Bayonne, the company can count on the research department, product design, sales strategy, logistics and after-sales service. It is here that the company imagines the products of tomorrow and listens to its users.
In Villafranca de los Barros, Spain, the birthplace of the Merin family, the factory is staffed by skilled, dedicated employees working on state-of-the-art machinery. A total of 90 people develop, manufacture, ship and maintain almost 200,000 products every year.
Emmanuel Merin, the founder's son, is now at the head of the company, supported by his partners Jean-Pierre Castel, Olivier Renoux and Samuel Derguy. Together, they are implementing a global strategy that will enable FORGE ADOUR to maintain a strong presence in the field and pursue its development in France and abroad, building on a genuine reputation.
